H & M Launches Recycling Jeans

New life for old denim rag. H & M jeans is now made of recycled cotton on the market. The kicker: This restrained old clothes are processed.

Green thumbs up for H & M! After the announced “fashion recycling week” in August in London, the Swedish fashion giant now with the new will “Close the Loop” collection for a clear conscience. September third, there will be 16 different denim styles for men, women, and children, all of which are produced from recycled cotton and organic cotton. So far so good. But the Special: Cotton is obtained from old clothes that come from the initiative “Collect clothes at H & M”. Since 2013, customers can return their old clothes at H & M stores and get discount on the purchase of a new H & M part for it.

New life for old jeans
Creation of a textile cardiovascular system (hence the name of the collection “close the loop”), in which clothing worn is recycled, is designed to reduce the influence of the textile industry on the environment by less waste ends up on the rubbish dumps and save natural resources in the production of fabric. Currently, it is H & M claims able to use 20 percent recycled cotton collected old clothes for new products. The number will triple but soon. The environmental organization Greenpeace welcomed this action.

As good as new!
The newly produced denim will be available in different styles: Skinny Jeans, overalls, overalls for women, denim jackets and pants for men and children may be happy about cute hoodies with cat ears. The prices are similar to the regular H & M prices: so for example which are lined denim jacket priced at approximately 60 euros.

From 3 September, which will “Close the Loop” collection be available online and in all stores worldwide.
